PROFILE In 1989 she was awarded a Diploma in Translation and Conference Interpretation for English, French and German from the Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori (SSIT) in Florence.
In 1986 and 1987 she attended courses at the Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut in Munich (Germany) - and in 1988 at the Institut Supérieur de l'Etat de Traducteurs et Interprètes in Brussels (Belgium). Immediately after graduating she started working on a full-time basis as a generic translator and a negotiation, chuchotage and simultaneous interpreter in the most varying sectors, dealing with very diverse and stimulating styles, themes and settings. She often travels to various European destinations for her work and frequently has occasion to work within cultural settings that are similar to her own and indeed sometimes quite diverse. After 21 years of activity as a freelance, she now specializes in the translation and proofreading of financial and legal texts, marketing, advertising, cosmetics, and creative writing. In 2005 with three other colleagues, she founded the "Comitato ALTRINIT" association, the sole aim of which is to obtain the legal recognition of the profession and set up a charter of professional translators and interpreters. Member of A.I.T.I. (Associazione Italiana Traduttori e Interpreti) from 2003 to 2011. In 2004 she proposed and successfully set up the AITI Marche branch, of which she was Chairwoman from 2005 to 2009. |
